This website is about the new music project of the German guitar player and song writer Bernd Basmer. The project is called “Jestertrap”.
Bernd is a German guitar player and songwriter who has released several albums in the Rock and Metal genre. In 2024 he decided to finally record and produce some of his own songs, which reflect the musical style he has been striving for since quite a while and finally was able to play with.
Bernd recorded and produced 11 songs for this new project which shows his interest in different music styles. As a result, the first single called “Let me breathe” has been released on March 7th, 2025 and he will continuously release more music in the same genre.
Past recording activities
Beginning at the age of 18, Bernd played in several local cover bands before he joined a band called Superior. With them he recorded 4 albums and played on stages across Europe and the USA.
When Superior broke apart in 2004, he joined several smaller projects until he came together with Red Raven in 2012. With them he released 2 albums to date.
In 2019 he also recorded the guitars and helped with songwriting for the German band project Nachtgreif. As a result, their album “Schattenwandler” was released in early 2020.
Having learned a lot about music production throughout his musical career, Bernd decided to finally record and produce his first own solo album in 2020 using a lot of different music styles than rock or metal. The album called MUSIC was released in June 2021.
Latest project
In August 2023, Bernd decided to leave Red Raven to focus more on his own music. He recorded 11 songs, found an incredible singer based out of London (UK) and produced, mixed and mastered them all by himself. The songs are based on heavy guitar lines but also include thrilling synthesizer sounds and beats. It’s an interesting mix between two very different worlds.
